Snowshoe Hiking

The lovely outdoors at Axalp

A winter wonderland for the whole family.

Discover nature at its most beautiful on this lovely snowshoe hike through the pristine countryside. The postbus takes you from Brienz up to Axalp. The snowshoe trail starts at the Axalp, Sportbahnen bus stop behind the Restaurant Axalp Stübli and continues along the Schnitzlerweg (sculpture path ) buried deep in snow. Some caution is required in the area of Gausband (ledge). Otherwise the trail leads through the untouched forests and across glistening snow fields to mystical Hinterburg Lake. From there you go down to the snow-covered Gou area and continue along the summer road to the Brienzerberg, Teiffental bus stop. The postbus will either take you back to the starting point at Axalp, Sportbahnen or directly to Brienz.

Snowshoes are available for rent at Newssport in Brienz or at the Sport Shop on Axalp.
